Henry is the grandson of Esther Hope, a well known New Zealand watercolourist and designer of the Tekapo Church.
Henry studied art in London at the Byam Shaw school of art.

In 1991 He won the Birkenhead Art Award and his work featured in the collections of:
Sir Doug Myers - Lion Nathan.
