John Whitehead

John involved himself in art at an early age when he began entering a number of colouring-in competitions - most of which he won.

​After leaving Nelson College, his desire to acquire a Fine Arts Degree was thwarted so he went to University instead and received an Hons Degree in Science (Botany).

​He currently paints watercolours in a variety of topics including birds, landscapes, boats and portraits.

​His latest passion is abstract painting using acrylics and applying the paint in an unorthodox technique producing amazing results in colour and texture.  these techniques of colour mixing, canvas preparation and texture give his paintings the WOW factor
