Miranda J Caird- Prints

I am a full time artist and first started selling my work in 2003. Painting very  quickly became a full time job. My studio is in a tiny Bach at Whale Bay in Raglan, New Zealand and I like to stay very connected to nature. I love being able to get deeply into a creative flow without any dates, distractions or deadlines.

I have rarely done solo shows as I am not really one for the limelight. Mostly I have been a stock artist just putting the work on the courier and sending it off to galleries and buyers. Over 1000 originals have gone out and are all around the world. My work has featured on the cover of Contemporary New Zealand Art Calendars.

Lately I bought an Epson Sure color P5070 printer and I have learnt to make my own archival quality giclee prints which you will find for sale here on my website. I have also been selling them around my hometown Raglan, from La Petite Galerie, a space artists can hire, the tiny store and the Raglan Creative Market as I like to get feedback from real people at the beginning of any new direction. It's been fun.

I have been influenced by many New Zealand landscape painters including Rita Angus, Don Binney and Robin White.

I do have some formal training as I majored in Art at Wellington College Of Education and have done short term courses and workshops through private providers such as Inverlochy Art School in Wellington. Mostly I like to explore, learn, refine, in the studio
